92.5 STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. Fine silver (99.9% pure) is generally too soft for producing functional objects; therefore, the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give it strength while preserving the ductility and beauty of the precious metal.

SILVER PLATED

(Silver-Plated) refers to a process whereby a thin molecule of genuine silver is applied by electroplating to a metal alloy or other material base. An electrodeposited coating of silver used for engineering purposes that may be mat, bright, or semi bright and are not less than 98% silver purity.

Electro - forming : Metal is electro-deposited either into a mould and removed when sufficient thickness has been achieved to produce a solid, freestanding object, or onto a non-metal article to produce a filled model.
